Can't bear to toss out those small bits of color? Make new materials from your littlest bits of fabric. Scrapping has never been so easy or so much fun. Demonstration and hands-on. Complete a 16" x 20" or larger piece of "bits and pieces" by the end of the day. Combine this workshop with "Piecing a Quilt of Stories" for a week-end workshop.

Put FLESH ON OLD BONES by creatively re-reading your family letters and documents. Take bits of family memories and stories and imagine the people who were there. Feel their time and space. Create stories you want to tell your family - and that they want to hear.

This workshop is a combination of genealogy and oral history. It offers new ideas and approaches for family history researchers and for artists and storytellers who are gathering ideas for their work. Some places Schoettler has presented this workshop: Sandhills Community College, Pinehurst, NC, Pyramid Atlantic, Beltsville, MD, Montgomery County Historical Society, Rockville, MD Two to Five hours.

Open Yourself to the artist within you. Making art can be as natural as breathing.

This workshop is designed to introduce you to varied art techniques and simple methods for using are as meditation and prayer. Use creative concentration as a means to enter the quiet stillness. No art experience is necessary

Adaptable for week-end or five day retreat.
Schoettler presents art and spirituality workshops in the Sabbatical Program, Washington Theological Union, is a former artist-in-residence at Foundry United Methodist Church, Washington, DC. She recently led a five day Art and Spirituality retreat at Daylesford Abbey, Paoli, PA.
